Hearts-a-Bustin' Fruit — Euonymus americana — (September 22, 2011) Perhaps the most spectacular fruit and seed package in the park. With its outlandish colors, the “bustin’ heart” fruit will easily catch your eye along Henry Hollow Creek in late summer and early fall. During times of deer over-population, it is rare to see the mature fruit as the plant seems to be a favorite food for white-tailed deer. |
